If you are in college, and you have toddlers at the same time, good for you! This can be a lot of added work on top of your college work,  though as you probably know. So often times getting your little one (or ones) potty trained can seem like an epic feat.

But fear not, because here are some simple tips to potty train your child in no time flat.

Okay, so the time has come for you to start potty training your toddler. The process might seem daunting, but the truth is that it is actually simpler than it seems. Here are some tips that you can follow:

One, start exposing your child to the potty. Explain to him or her what it is and what it is used for. This way, they will have some familiarity with it and they won’t see it as a foreign object. If your child has an older sibling, it will be of great assistance if they could use the potty in front of their younger sibling to spark their curiosity and hopefully make them want to use it as well.

The next step is to stop using your child’s diapers. When your child tells you that they have to “go”, lead them to the potty and show them how to use it. If they act out or get upset, put the diaper back on and try again in a week or two.

If your child makes a mess in the beginning, be patient with them. Being very generous with praise and encouragement will also help greatly. In no time, and with much perseverance and love, they should be able to use the potty on their own and even look forward to it.

Just remember, sooner or later your child will be potty trained.
